Artist: Rodeo Boys (Tiff Haney, lead vocals, they/them)
Why?
The Rodeo Boys sound like midwest Emo with a bit of country drawl and twang mixed in, and lyrics that frequently remind me of Kurt Cobain and Nirvana. They describe their sound as "queer rock", and it hits me in the feels as a queer millennial who grew up in the midwest listening to the same kinds of radio stations as they all did.Where to start?

I would be remiss to not mention they put on clown face for the "Feel the Same" music video...what can I say, I got a thing for clowns...

Lastly, one of my favorites of theirs is "Cowgirl in the Dark," which was inspired by Pamela Anderson, and not only the ways she was adored but also the ways she was mistreated by our society.
