Live and recent posts from across the Fediverse tagged #pro1x, aggregated by home.social.

  1. just sent my v2 patches for mainline linux support yesterday

  2. F(x)tec Pro¹ X finally arrived. It was sitting in a warehouse for ages, but thankfully the battery was not dead and it powered up. Shipped with Android, but in about 10 minutes work with the UBports installer, had Ubuntu Touch up and running. Yay!

Yes the slide-out keyboard is a bit fiddly, but it seems worth a try and is no worse than a miniature on-screen keyboard.

UB usually takes a few days to get configured right. Updates to follow

  3. For anyone after a #Psion Agenda-like experience on a #MobileLinux #PDA, I've just released v0.2.9 of #Pygenda (alpha, WIP!).

    Demo video: youtube.com/watch?v=uvQqFmlZ6n

    GitHub: github.com/semiprime/pygenda

v0.2.9 adds two nice new features: repeats like "last Monday in May" and todo item due dates.

I run it on my #GeminiPDA, but it's written in Python/GTK3 so should run on similar keyboard devices. Would love to hear from anyone running it on a #PinePhone, #FXTec #Pro1x, #GPD, #eeePC, #Zaurus, or other!

  4. I've released a new version of #Pygenda, my work-in-progress Psion Agenda-inspired agenda app targeting keyboard #PDA/ #palmtop devices.

    Source: github.com/semiprime/pygenda

I use it on my Linux-running #GeminiPDA, & someone ran it on a #DevTerm, but it should work on anything with Python3.5+ & GTK3 (for handhelds that probably means Linux). I'd love feedback from anyone running it on other platforms (#PinePhone, #Fxtec #Pro1x, #GPD), and from other fans of #Psion Agenda.

  5. @flypig right now waiting on the #fxtec #pro1x to arrive. But it won't be a daily driver phone cause the lack of lte working in the US. Had a sony xperia 10 running it until AT&T stopped it last year.

  6. Booting @postmarketOS via netboot on F(x)tec .

cpufreq is not online yet, so CPU clock are probably stuck at the lowest speed.

  7. And USB has been brought up on F(x)tec !

So here is telnetd running with neofetch on Deathmist's initramfs.

    regulators are still not yet

  8. So, the is in my hands. Just about time to write something I guess:

  9. @fedops Frankly, haven´t gotten to set it up yet...
    Lot of work this week.

But some things are already on it, like Tusky.

Also I just realized that ctrl + arrow keys allows you to jump text word by word here too.

    Mini-Orgasm...

  10. Update on the F(x)Tec
    So far:

It is a good looking phone, honestly I really like the design. But it is a big phone and heavy too.
Also full blown Android with Google ist the only option for an OS at the moment, which kind of sucks, since I ordered it as an Ubuntu phone.

But I set it up anyway so I can play around with it for now until either lineage or ubports are ready.

One annoying thing: The camera, it has a bump and that makes typing on a table a nightmare....

  11. XDA should be embarrassed to have their logo on the #fxtec #pro1x

  12. Update on the from F(x)-tech.
The fist batch has been shipped now and the second one will ship in August.
Hopeing to be on the first batch and getting my shipping details soon.
But for as long as I really get that device, I wouldn't mind being on batch 2 either.
After all this journey started in October 2020 for me...

  13. Nice, just received a mail that the assembly process of the FxTec has now begun.

This feels like the last couple of hours prior to Christmas....

  14. Now, I fund the Pro1 X from F(x)tec team. It's linux smart phone and it can run ubports. I wait it. igg.me/at/pro1x/x/28073336#/ #pro1x #Fxtec #ubports

  15. Stumbled upon this today: community.fxtec.com/topic/3292

While the switch to the Snapdragon 662 is unlikely to negatively impact LineageOS and Ubuntu Touch (I hope), it‘s likely a major bummer for the mainline Linux story, which was looking quite good with the 835.
