  1. Two of my favorite mobile devices, the DevTerm and Flipper Zero, having a nice "chat" with each other. I would love to use my DevTerm more, I need suggestions of things I can print on the thermal printer!

  2. My current setup for digital community archiving projects:

open hardware (#raspberrypi) as interfaces. small screens to avoid sitting *behind* laptop screens (pi 400, #adafruit cyberdeck hat, #clockworkpi #devterm).

portable #scanography for creative tracing and mapping.

graph writing in #obsidian, with self-hosted livesync and other plugins (dataview, graph link types, juggl). can be combined with social media webarchiving.

this all is building on prototyping and experimentation in the cooarchi.net art-doc-archive.net #urbandermatology and #opferschicht projects, and recently in the @MuseumfZK

  7. Some graphic effects are problematic in #Factorio (running through #box64), related to #OpenGL issues, but regular planet seems playable. Have to load my PC save and test how well that runs.
Menu background with lots of active asteroid collectors was a bit lagy, though.

  8. Finished upgrading. It even runs #Minecraft up to version 1.16.5 - not perfect, but playable. I even got a pair of new, protected 18650 LiIon cells.

  17. I managed to fix the graphics issues by increasing the used graphics memory. My PC save works fine, too, about 30 FPS / 60 UPS. Also, I set up my #Yubikey for #PGP and #SSH and #Emacs. Here is a photo of Emacs running in #cool_retro_term - the camera doesn't capture the nice looks, though.

  18. Preparing the upgrade of my #Clockworkpi #DevTerm to a #RaspberryPi Compute Module 4, using the official adapter board. The #CM4 should arrive this week.
It was nice with the CM3, but a bit slow. I hope the new core will be noticable.

  19. @benbrown That's awesome! Now print a GITD cover like I did for the #DevTerm

  20. This photo hint on the #Devterm forum saved my day!

    forum.clockworkpi.com/t/i-need

The CM4 assembly instructions show the raspberry Pi the wrong way. I was following the visual like probably many others and couldn't get it to boot...

Just turn it around and you are good. Also be sure to double-check the connection of the adapter.

  21. I'm thinking about buying a #cyberdeck like those from #clockworkPi. I haven't bought a #raspberryPi since the #rp3. The #cm4 seems a little outdated; is it likely that a new version will be released soon? What are the chances that the #uConsole or #devTerm will be compatible with the #cm5? What about a #bananapi #computeModule?

  22. After all these years and recent new #handheldpc like the #ClockworkPi #DevTerm or #uConsole this litte embedded #Linux powered device is still the winner in comparison for me. Battery lasts more than twice as the other two, lighter, better to type on, faster in terms of real world usage b/c of bloated linux these days...
    Thanks a lot @DragonBox for the awesome #openhardware #Pandora !

  23. Managed to get #renoise working on the #clockworkpi #devterm . Lots of power in a small, portable package 🙂 #synth #synthwave

  24. typing via tut from the commandline of my #DevTerm right now. to use commandline / text based interfaces decelerate computer usage, brings more focus on what you do atm. i can fully recommend the device, client and color scheme #gruvbox dark :)

  25. @charmcli ... and (nearly) the same shots of my #RobCo UOS on one of its natural habitats: the #ClockworkPi #DevTerm - if someone notices: yeah, i implemented some sort of multi language support :)

  26. I've released a new version of #Pygenda, my work-in-progress Psion Agenda-inspired agenda app targeting keyboard #PDA/ #palmtop devices.

    Source: github.com/semiprime/pygenda

I use it on my Linux-running #GeminiPDA, & someone ran it on a #DevTerm, but it should work on anything with Python3.5+ & GTK3 (for handhelds that probably means Linux). I'd love feedback from anyone running it on other platforms (#PinePhone, #Fxtec #Pro1x, #GPD), and from other fans of #Psion Agenda.

  29. @kelbot i get around 5+ hours on my very similar #DevTerm with A04 and only 2 cores running + wifi and #amfora/ #gomuks running. Stand by works. I already ordered a #uConsole and i will try the #RaspberryPi SoM first with it. The R01 and A04 are also on the list to try out. The R01 is very slow, hasn't better battery life in the DevTerm and isn't supported well imho

  33. First #ClockworkPi #DevTerm #R01 impressions after a few hours: The little #Allwinner #RISCV does a great job. It works really nice in a expectable speed for 1Ghz / 1GB RAM. On the software side i'm happy with OpenBox, LXSession, Rox-Filer, GKrellM, Geany, Netsurf,...
The only real issue is that shut down takes longer than boot. Any ideas why closing #NetworkManager takes more than 2 minutes?
