i recently replaced my #pinephone's screen, and decided to write a bit about it. another blog post is out at https://hamblingreen.com, and it's a longer one this time. i also replaced my first #ppkb's main board. this was the first article written with the #barf blog generator. check it out, and if you have feedback you can reply here or email me

i just bought a replacement #pinephone screen for the one i cracked, along with an actual protective case and a replacement main board for my old #ppkb. i fried the charging circuit in my first ppkb a while ago and just bought another as the replacement board wasn't available at the time, but now that it is it'll be a fun project to replace it! i decided against buying the #pinephonepro for now, maybe i'll change my mind before college in the fall.

i just figured out how to turn the Pine key on my @PINE64 #pinephone keyboard case into a backspace key. i already remapped it's modifier actions to Alt with one line in my sway config, but i've been trying to make a functional xkb layout for ages and finally figured out that i needed to remap the <LWIN> keycode to BackSpace and not <SUPR>. i'm used to this functionality on desktop, having backspace close to my pinky finger while i'm typing. making this switch on the #ppkb is a small victory!

i just placed my second-ever order from the @PINE64 store, including a #rock64 and needed power supply and casing, a new #ppkb as mine has unfortunately stopped working long past its warranty period, a #pinedio pinephone add-on case, and a #pinepower desktop power supply. can't wait to recieve and start tinkering with my new toys!
