Iโm no longer focusing on #powerlifting, and I know that I shouldnโt be comparing myself to others, that different goals require different loads, and blah blah blah.
But today there was a guy next to me front-squatting my #deadlift, and man did I feel personally attacked ๐ -
Super light headed at the gym today. Felt it during my deadlift warmups and full on noped my top set before it barely got off the ground. Not sure what's up. Not enough sleep? Diet finally affecting my energy levels? My blood pressure was low for me (good range for most people). Maybe that? No idea but a bit frustrated.

Week 1 of being back at the gym: +1,2kg of bodyweight, of which 500g is muscle mass, according to my scale.
3 workouts, on Madcow 5x5, and a deliberate excess of calories. A new mass gainer (~1300 calories/serving), instead of the usual protein shake, definitely helped. Weakness is most noticeable on squats, but I believe that I've also been overtraining them on 531 during the 6 months I did that program.

Started a new programme today; a repeat of one I did last year with really good results (it doesn't have a name insofar as I'm aware).
Began with #deadlifts; 1x1x142.5 kg (314 lbs), 4x4x127.5 kg (281 lbs). I put in my 1RM as 150 kg (it was 160 kg 4 months ago) and even then it felt like really hard work; hard in a way that I probably haven't worked for three months.
Then followed it up with 5x10x75 kg (165 lbs) RDLs and I felt _fantastic_. โบ๏ธ

In other news: I finally got a 200 kg (441 lbs) deadlift at a meet and Iโm so happy! I was chasing this number for over a year and yesterday, it went up relatively easily!
Next goal: 212.5 kg (468 lbs)

If I had to choose one chained deadlift variation, it would be chained with a pause off the floor. My favorite.
I got a triple PR at 360 lbs / 163kg on the bar with a 56 lbs / 25 kg chain. Thatโs 80% of my comp deadlift max at the bottom and 93% at the top.
Chained pulls always calls for Slayer ๐ค

I pulled 97% of my last meet PR like it was 86% this morning according to the velocity tracker. I felt like I could have possibly gotten 4 more.

If you want a fun #deadlift variation that gives your lower back a break while allowing you to work hard on the top part of the pull, look no further than chained block pulls!
I worked up to heavy singles at 412.5 lbs (187 kg) with 55 lbs (25 kg) of chains.

Slingshot bench is my absolute favorite variation. What fun it is to load up over 105% of your max weight!
This morning, I got 302.5 lbs (137.2 kg) for four medium singles. I canโt wait until I turn this into my raw bench PR!

Pulled 410 lbs with maximum effort Sunday, after a week of tapering for the test day, even though my PR is 445 lbs. Today I pulled 3 singles of 400 lbs and it felt medium, even though I have some fatigue built up. Who knows whatโs going to happen at my meet.
