Football was shocking today. Travelled to Stoke-on-Trent to watch Port Vale lose, and lose without a fight I might add, and just be horrendous. And then Coventry City disgrace themselves at home to Stoke City, and I was 100% convinced that Stoke would get battered today, so that was useless too.
I'm dead drunk as well.

I fell down a rabbit hole. I love looking at old #maps but this one... wow
1879, Port Vale House, the likely birthplace of #PVFC, on the Trent and Mersey Canal, Longport (near #Burslem, #StokeOnTrent city not formed yet) opposite Port Vale Street, with Port Vale Mills just down the canal.
Port Hill, about half a mile away, remains today but the name #PortVale, apart from the street and the #football club, has all but disappeared
