Coventry, England. An interesting city with a rich history. Godiva and Leofric, in the time of Earls. Two remarkable cathedrals, one a shell from the sustained bombardment during WWII. Loyal anti Royalist stronghold during the Civil War of the 1600s, so much so that Royalist prisoners complained of being "sent to Coventry". The home of British bicycle innovation and manufacture, which moved onto automobile manufacture. The rebirth of Ska music in the 1970s, and Mrs Bucket later.
I lived in Coventry for about 10 years through the 1990s. I met some great people, got married (discovered the infamous ring road) and retain some wonderful memories of my time there.
All this nostalgia has been brought up by the fact that the British Chess Championship is being held in Coventry at the moment, and in the fields of over 1700 players, there are quite a few I used to know although most are playing in senior events.

We are a small bunch of volunteers who come together on the fourth Saturday of each month to #fix stuff. It all happens in #Coventry in the Central Library 10am to noon. We also support other local #RepairCafes such as #Finham Repair Cafe and #SalvationArmy Repair Cafe.
