In August, someone shared this piece by Lombardi et al. on conceptualizing active learning. It changed how I think about the concept & how I talk about it. It even brought me around to "constructivism" when I thought it was just for humanists. It's on my mind again after a #pod22seattle session on the topic so I thought I'd reshare.

I can’t say I’ve missed traveling for conferences that much over the last 3 years, but reading about @actualham at #POD22Seattle is giving me just the *slightest* FOMO. Luckily, I get to experience Robin IRL, everyday…in between hauling water to the office from the town spring. 😂

The music playing in the main ballroom at #POD22Seattle is basically a Mission Impossible soundtrack and somehow it feels right as I prep last-minute for my keynote. I wish I could drop to the podium from the ceiling on a wire.

One contributor from a community college shares that they have a CARE team for faculty but they are completely underwater and all leaving. "Having a team is not enough." #pod22seattle

Ok starting a new thread for my journey to (#pod22online &) & #POD22Seattle. We’re arriving at the airport where my plan is to purchase a breakfast sandwich, exit the airport, huddle in the sleet to lower my mask and eat it, go inside and maybe fly somewhere but mostly just get the sandwich.

Today’s the day! I’m headed from New Hampshire to the west coast for #POD22Seattle. My mask is glued to my face and I am ready for all the planes, trains, and automobiles one day can throw at me. My goal is for everyone registered for #POD22Online to feel very self-satisfied about their modality choice by the end of this travel thread! Do you enjoy desperate humor, dystopian musings, and other people’s anxiety? Then this extended thread will be for YOU!

Happy to be in Seattle and on the ground for #POD22Seattle. I'm especially looking forward to helping facilitate the "getting started" pre-conference workshop got new Educational Developers.
