Watched the most recent Superman movie again.
What makes a lot of these Superhero stories great for me are the supporting characters. Superman needs the Daily Planet. Spiderman needs the Daily Bugle. Batman needs the GCPD, especially Gordon.
These characters help them to choose to do the right thing.
All that power (and wealth in Batman's case) means nothing if it's not used to protect people.

" #SpinalTap " which I thought was a real band because they reminded me of my older brother's "Uriah Heep" record.

Heard a story about a Lin-Manuel Miranda new album based on the 1979 movie "The Warriors". We downloaded it from Hoopla from the Public Library. Spouse had never seen it but followed the story well because the concept of switching out the costuming with band styles really worked. She hated one character's voice because she doesn't care for that kind of music, but he is the bad guy. Will buy.

One of the first times I realized I liked a certain type of person was Becky Thatcher, played by Jodie Foster in the 📺 TV 🎼 musical version of Mark Twain's "Tom Sawyer".
My friends wanted to be either smart as Tom or carefree as Huck. I didn't want to be Becky, but I wanted to hang out with her a lot. She reminded me of my best friend Lindy at the time.

I understand the criticisms from the critics about "Empire Records" as a movie. But I also understand that those don't matter sometimes when the zeitgeist of the time is captured pretty darn accurately (A vinyl record store, attempts at corporate takeover, band of misfits working together--and GWAR!)

While it is an amazingly well done movie for the time, especially the stylized format and the main actress' performance, the main thing I take away from "Run Lala Run" now is how incredibly bad the motor car drivers are. The main gun isn't even close to being the most dangerous thing comparatively.

A small thing that changed years ago. The song "Brandy" by Looking Glass was on Oldies radio stations. The internet was useful for searching for things. But every time I looked for information about the song, only Brandy, the star of the TV show "Moesha" came up. A few years later, James Gunn used the song in the Marvel Comics movie "Guardians oder the Galaxy" and it hit large again. Now "Brandy music" gets the pop star and "Brandy song" gets the song.

Especially liked how a toy can be "created" and not just remixed like Sid did in "Toy Story 1".
Jessie from "Toy Story 2" is still my favorite character.

Bicycled 16K of the Root River Trail to Peterson and back to Rushford. Still sad Burdey's is closed permanently. The branches of this tree remind me of hands, like the scary trees in the "Wizard of Oz" movie.
First bicyclist I've seen on the trail today that seemed to be from somewhere else besides one of these numerous small towns.

He was great in his film roles, but his TV roles grabbed me just as much. As "Malachi" in "Longmire" and my favorite of all his roles, "Leonard" in "Northern Exposure".

At the end of the movie "Drop" there's a single called "Healing" by FLETCHER.
Showing my age because I didn't like the music at all. Way too overproduced for my taste. But the lyrics are fantastic. Really moving. For me, personally, it would be better as a "Gordon Lightfoot" or "Linda Ronstadt" style of music song.
I liked the movie. Was it great? No. Was it bad? No. A solid just good suspense movie that I enjoyed.

"Sinners" IS a horror movie. Don't be fooled by anyone saying it "goes beyond the genre" or "It's genre-bending" or tries to compare it to other non-horror movies. That just means they haven't seen enough good Horror movies, or just personally dont really like the genre.
And it's really, really good.

The movie "The Four Seasons" is an okay comedy, but for the *time* it was made is really good.
In the middle of a lot of laughter around it. one line struck me pretty hard "I'm quirky because I hurt" - Danny character played by Jack Weston written by Alan Alda.
