@LALegault @OpenMediaOrg My MP replied to this with the usual boilerplate bullshit answer about “lawful access measures” and helping police investigate all manner of heinous crimes.
Completely ignoring the significant harms to the privacy rights of Canadians and potential dangers to the marginalized and victims of abuse. They don’t care. We’re fucked. -

The new Carney gov't cabinet is announced tomorrow and sworn in.
Gotta say this is a situation where I'm glad that Trudeau has moved on. He was so handsy and full-contact with all the cabinet ministers it always seemed way over the top and borderline inappropriate.
I suspect Carney will be a little more professional.

Just hearing bits of #PMCarney's speech or communique or whatever it was from today.
Some bang-on points in there - need to rework supply chains and trading relationships and most importantly, do it fast. Sure hope there are trade commissioners, bureaucrats and such pulling long hours with domestic biz and other countries towards win-win relationships.
We can make this work. #Trade isn't a zero-sum game, and those who try to do it that way incur huge difficulties.
