While to many they seem like a piece of history, they are literally a lifeline when mobile phone coverage is affected by extreme weather or vandals.

My local phone box has already gone but I hope people in rural/remote parts of the UK save theirs.

Waiting for the Call

I remember that on this occasion I was sitting in the car in a Tim Horton's parking lot near Halifax airport, waiting for @stevenkennard to text to tell me he had landed and I could go to pick him up. It was raining and misty and rather eerie with the light coming from these two phone booths. The call did come.

Never a phone when you want one…

I guess if you're in London, you probably won't have much trouble finding a public phone. A group of them stood here, wherever it is. Empty and alone.
