I didn't like Dublin when I visited back in 2008; I make no secret of it. But some of my ancestors lived up this very street, and the cognitive dissonance of vice on the left facing virtue on the right may explain much.

Our bike ride yesterday was an exhilarating one in a way we never expected.
A short story (not long).
Although the trip to Kingsport was uneventful (I sometimes wish there was a little bit of flat ground on that ride, instead of just up and down hills all the time), it was hot and I was glad of the wet buff on my neck. There was a bit of a tail wind, though not very strong. Remember that for later...
When we got to Kingsport and had our snack under the trees, we got notified of a rainfall and thunderstorm warning, so we hurried to head back before the storm broke. People were packing up on the beach as we started out (into a headwind that was picking up) and one lady wished us good luck...
We were still about 10kms, (~7mi) from home when the rain started. And did it ever start!
We had rain jackets (Showerspass) that we put on, actually quite glad for the bit of warmth they provided now that the temperature was dropping fast and the wind was strong in our faces, and they were great for our tops but our legs and feet were drenched, actually sloshing with rain water.
We stood at the side of the road for about 10 minutes and with no end in sight decided to just ride home in the downpour. Thankfully there was no thunderstorm where we were.
To be honest, we found the whole thing quite exhilarating and we were really energized when we got in, drenched to the skin and laughing.
Here's the photo I took as we were leaving, heading into that dark cloud. (I loved the light on those grasses and flowers in the foreground.) It looks best on a bigger screen.
Don't be afraid of a ride in the rain. This one was a highlight of our week!

Snow in town has been almost non-existent this winter, so walking along the river through the snow Saturday morning was a treat.

Not far from Lima,
where city lights usually blur the night sky.
But the Milky Way was incredible,
a clear sky,
and stars shining like never before.#NatureOnMastodon
