I’m officially done with summer semester coursework. Phew. Now to watch the #Mariners do whatever it is they’re doing, not scoring apparently, and daydream about my upcoming mini vacation. #PhDQuest

Last push on this draft and boy howdy and I having a hard time getting motivated. I’m betting three more hours. I should just do it. But I’d rather continue to “virtuously procrastinate.” #PhDQuest

Send snacks and good will. My final deliverable draft for my internship is due tomorrow and I think I have at least seven hours of writing and editing still to go. #PhDQuest

I'm avoiding homework and reading the internet like a responsible adult and someone on Reddit just said "Denzel in distress" instead of "damsel in distress" about Dolores from #WestWorld and I feel like my life has taken on new and deeper meaning. #PhDQuest

I took a personal day off work today and took the train down to #PDX. Now I’m eating lunch at the Hawthorne Asylum and watching the #WorldCup after getting a couple hours of study time in on the trip. Fuck. Yes. I wasn’t even mad the train was delayed while I was on it due to an issue in Kelso and a drawbridge. #PhDQuest

I mean I WAS gonna do an hour or so of coursework, but then I remembered it’s the #HomerunDerby. So… I think we all know what I’m gonna do tonight. #PhDQuest

I am REALLY struggling today to write a paper I need to write. Yeeesh. I keep telling myself after coffee, after I go pick blueberries, after I run some errands. Now it’s lunch time and I haven’t started. After lunch? #PhDQuest

I’ve decided that my summer side quest is mixology. (Because full time work and #PhdQuest aren’t enough.) I have been making mocktails every night this week so as not to get wasted on work days, mostly using a Boston shaker and bastardized tiki drink recipes. I turned in all my coursework for the semester a few days ago and I don’t have my syllabus for next semester until next week, so I’m fully on break from school right now. But because I’m so used to having assignments weighing on the back of my mind, I have this constant low level anxiety that I’m forgetting something. It’s almost funny. Almost. #phdQuest

The last paper I have due for the semester isn’t even a difficult one, and I know it isn’t gonna write itself, but wow… I am REALLY resisting working on it today. #PhDQuest

Phew. One more class, one more presentation and three more assignments until I’m done with year one of course work. #PhDQuest

Yesterday I told myself I’d get 2 or 3 hours of homework done. I did 5+ and completed an assignment two weeks early. Today I set a timer and made myself work on a lit review for 2 hours in the hopes of getting 2 pages more solidified. I did that and then came back to it for more and now I have 8 pages plus 2 that I might not keep. I guess the upside of actively being burnt out at work is that I am really excited to throw myself into my studies? #PhDQuest

And then I remembered that as a student the things I request through interlibrary loan don’t have to always be coursework related. #PhDQuest

Dude! I took notes on FOUR different leadership theories and went for a second walk. I’m gonna go see #ProjectHailMary this afternoon to celebrate. #PhDQuest

I have already gone for a walk in the rain. So now I am going to read about and take good notes on at least two, maybe three, leadership approaches and theories and then I am going to eat snacks and chill the fuck out. #SolidPlans #PhDQuest
