HaGeZi is discontinuing their subdomain enumeration lists.
This will take effect 1 August 2026; after that date, the links for these lists will return 404.https://github.com/hagezi/dns-blocklists/discussions/10545
The subdomain enumeration lists included every known subdomain of blocked domains.
Content filters like uBlock Origin and AdGuard will automatically block all subdomains of a blocked root domain.
However, some software like AdAway and HOSTS files require every subdomain to be listed. -
Any #pfsense #pfblockerng users blocked from accessing the Talos_BL list? On default settings I'm blocked.

@weirdwriter can you please make it compatible for pfsense with #pfblockerng , thx

Top Tip for #haos and #pfsense users: be aware that haos for some reason REALLY wants to use DNS over HTTPS services. So if you use #pfblockerng with the DoH blackist, expect some cool DoS attacks from your HAOS on your router. Took me an hour to find it, especially because I thought it was my camera subnet @homeassistant

So, here’s my plan for getting some control back over my data from big tech. More to come , but I want to jot my ideas down before I forget!
The first step is to block as much advertising as possible. I hate being tracked and correlated with people I know, seeing their ads. I already use #pfsense and #pfblockerng - so will filter that and use VPN across devices to route via home.
The next step is to lock down my devices to stop tracking bloody everything. Should be an easy fix - remove unwanted apps, stop things like access to GPS and sensors unless using the apps.
Once the basics have been sorted, next step will be looking at media hosting. #synology and #jellyfin are probs going to be key players
Finally point for today, will need to move away from various Google services in the home automation space. Smart speakers, nest cameras and heating are probs going to go. Will also look at replacing apps that NEED the cloud - looking at you #phillipshue

Just put in all ASN numbers for #Twitter/X in #pfBlockerNG on my #pfSense firewall. So no more tracking or accidentally clicking a link to them.

Spent a lot of time over the past few months evolving my home network from #ubnt everywhere to having #pfsense as my security enforcement.
So far, I now have various vlans for IOT, management, family and guest. Remote access, dns sec and #pfblockerng
Now the challenge is to use #acme certificate manager to automate letsencrypt certs across the network.
Not looking forward to getting the UniFi controller cert replaced 😳😳

@Tattooed_mummy exactly the reason why I do this on a network level with some good block lists on #pfblockerng on my #pfSense . I'm always a bit surprised to see ads when I'm on 5G 😉

pfBlockerNG-devel v3.1.0_7 / v3.1.0_14 has been released!

@neildarlow it really is.
I mostly tend to ignore attacks on ssh as they do not accept password login anyway.
Using OTP I could ignore the #wordpress attacks as well, if was'nt for the the cpu load. wp wastes to much energy shaking that login box or whatever.
I tried using #pfBlockerNG at first but the lists I found did not take much load off my Wordpress.
