I’m reading this morning that Uber has had a new, innovative and frankly devastatingly brilliant and original idea for extending their ride sharing business. https://techcrunch.com/2025/05/14/uber-to-introduce-fixed-route-shuttles-in-major-us-cities-other-ways-to-save/

Unfortunately it won’t work with cars, they’re too small. So let’s stretch the car to get more seats in. And to keep the weight and cost down we’ll remove all the doors except one at the front. Of course this means we’ll need a gap in each row of seats to make it easier for ride sharers to get to an empty seat once they’ve got on.
