I finished watching #PatrickMelrose. The episode ends with a phone call whose ambivalence seems to have escaped reviewers. We're led to believe that Patrick calls the French waitress Helene whose number he picks from his pocket. And initially a French woman answers the phone. But when Patrick asks if it's too late to change his mind, the conversation partner changes and now he seems to have called his ex-wife Mary who answers "the boys will be delighted to see you".
I started watching #PatrickMelrose (2018) last night. The first episode was about British upper class #BenedictCumberbatch taking drugs non-stop, while battling childhood trauma. Somewhat amusing, but I have a feeling this is going to get a lot darker soon.
Patrick Melrose
