So this is a rough work version of _Conan the Avenger_, the final version of which I am familiar with. Yet I find this one intriguing because it leaves so much more to the imagination!

Instead of a black-robed wizard, we have an amorphous, eldritch blob. Perhaps a demon stolen in from the Outer Dark?

Is the woman lying on a sacrificial altar, or on a queenly dais? Is she even fettered (she is in the final version)?

In a lashunta setting, what curse has smitten this queen within her thronehall? What elder horror has appeared, has let in the mobats and the river eels? Who is the korasha warrior leaping to her aid?

There's a tale here, and it doesnt need to be Howard's, DeCamp's, or Nyberg's.

I came across this scene yesterday, and it begged to tell a story. On Castrovel, this could eaily be a settlement along the Yaro River's lower half, possibly Hanazhyana, Son's traditional foe, or further southward in the great delta marshes leading to Qabarat. The time of year could be Floodtide (spring). The colorful golden carp-like fish are a very nice touch, since this kind of fish would do well in this environment.

I love that the houses are on stilts. The question I have is that some of the buildings are on taller stilts than others. What would be the reason? I don't know, but am intrigued with finding an answer.
