So I finally broke down and downloaded a password manager on my phone.

Spent over an hour loading it with all the accounts I've been keeping written down at my desk at home, so I'd have a digital version to take with me everywhere.

Then I went to work, and promptly forgot the master password.

But it's all good, because I had it written down ... at my desk ... at home.

@sybrand I haven't tested Password Safe (https://pwsafe.org/) on anything other than Windows, but if you go to https://github.com/pwsafe/pwsafe/releases?q=non-windows and click "Assets" you'll see there are versions available for #Linux and #macOS ... someday I'll test it on Linux

Schon wieder große Sicherheitslücke bei #keepass

Über einen Speicherdump lässt sich das Masterpasswort teilweise auslesen.

Zuletzt war ja gefühlt die keppass Tresor-Rückwand offen (Klartext Export alle Einträge per Konfigschalter). Das fühlt sich jetzt an, als klebte ein Teil des Masterpasswortes unter der Tastatur. 😅

Today I’ve released v1.0.0 to the PowerShellGallery and to github. I’d appreciate any kind of feedback.

Since #Lastpass has had security issues I want to move on to a different #passwordmanager. I tried #passwordsafe from #BruceSchneier which would be my first choice but I struck out trying to move my data over. #Bitwarden is well regarded and loading data was very easy. I am struggling with its user interface but it may just be learning a new app because that aspect is also well regarded. Recommendations are invited.
