  3. Interesanti būtu zināt, vai Policija, zinot, ka arī šai vietā pierādās sen zināmā patiesība, ka krāsa nav infrastruktūra, ir norādījusi Liepājas domei, ka šeit ir problēma, un tā ir jālabo?
    Tas noteikti būtu vērtīgāk nekā filmēties šādos video.

  5. The VULC returned to SW Marine Drive today, updating an assessment ride from 10 years ago. Not much has changed, unfortunately. Fast, close vehicles; debris; barriers pushed into the cycling lane; bollards destroyed by vehicles; inconsistent treatments. #PaintIsNotInfrastructure #bikeyvr

  6. And yes. Motorists driving in dedicated cycling infrastructure IS a daily occurrence on my rides. This is why I scream about #PaintIsNotInfrastructure: because even concrete barriers are not enough to keep entitled motorists from "sharing road safety" badly.

  7. This is very disappointing. We don't need bike-protected parking. Parking-protected bike lanes are a much better design. But even better? Fully separated, protected bike lanes. Paint is not infrastructure. #PaintIsNotInfrastructure #BikeYVR

  8. Although we don't know the circumstances of this crash, we do know that
    #PaintIsNotInfrastructure, and until the city provides safe active transportation infrastructure - particularly in the east and south - people will be injured and killed by motorists. These deaths are preventable. 6/6

  9. Thank goodness the danger cone was placed in front, people on bikes might unknowingly run into the big yellow truck parked in the bike lane. "We're only going to be here for a few hours."

  11. I'm so tired. There's a concrete barricade providing protection to people on bikes just ahead of the vehicle's front bumper. In fact, it was very difficult to get in the protected lane because they're so close. And of course, they've stopped to pick up a kid from the adjacent school. Their magic 4-way flashers are keeping everyone safe and them out of trouble, naturally.

    Dangerous, illegal, and selfish.

Oh look: City of Vancouver has acknowledged that #PaintIsNotInfrastructure and put in a temporary 2-way separated bike lane where a motor vehicle lane had been *even though there are painted "bike lanes"* on the road. This has been put in due to a closure of the Seawall MUP; hopefully it become permanent. #bikeyvr

  14. "Professional" driver. They were driving at me with zero cares in the world. The lane to the left of the bus is one way in the other direction. The bus, for the record, is not permitted in the bike lane either. #bikeyvr #PaintIsNotInfrastructure

  15. @gwagner Love it! I would love to see more of this, official or through civil action. It is legitimate 'traffic calming'.

    And where better to store the barriers when they are not in use?

    Some wags in my town nailed plungers down the side of a bike lane to make a point. Council ripped them out, but they got the message, and added proper posts there eventually.

    This sorta stuff can work to drive change.

    It certainly makes a difference.
