I typically carpool in the cold season, bike in the warm season.
This week, though, I've been driving myself in my wife's car and I've noticed: like me, most people are 1 to a car, people drive aggressively and with little to no regard for others (especially cyclists), parking is expensive, gas costs a fortune, I get to work shaken and spend the day irritable.
Bike is at the shop today. I'm going to see if they can expedite. Driving is crazy!

We're watching "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" for the first time in decades and I'm really surprised at how much of it is car propaganda.
Lots of yelling at people for daring to be walking somewhere, mocking people who don't drive, and fawning over exciting "motorcars".
And here I thought it was just a movie about a magic car that made funny noises. Of course, I was 6 the last time I saw it.

Today's delivery run. I park outside the post office next to a sign advertising a lottery which has cars as prizes. On the way home I cross the road next to evidence of the everyday violence handed out to pedestrians and cyclists by drivers.

Auto significa spreco di spazio e soldi: l'esempio dell'Arena olimpica a #Milano
Accanto all'arena è in costruzione il #parcheggio, e ha dimensioni paragonabili (ma sarà più "sottile"). Però l'arena ospiterà 16000 persone, il parcheggio solo 2750 veicoli.
Oltre allo spazio buttato, anche i costi crescono per il parcheggio. Per non parlare delle ricadute negative di tutte le #auto che passeranno.
