I heard recently that if people still had stuff stored on CD 💿 from the late 90s or early 2000s that it was probably time to get the data off as the CD would start to degrade. So I have been going through old stacks and folders of CDs. I’ve always kept OS install disks. My oldest is for Mac OS 8.5 probably from around 1999 or 2000. Time to start making disk images and scanning tops. Then I’ll look at nice ways of displaying them. #machistory #macos #osx #osxserver #apple #CD #storage

A few month ago I browsed macos9lives.com and found out that it was possible to boot #MacOS9 on a #MacMiniG4 with some custom hacks.
I became a #mac user with the release of #osxserver to replace my #linux and #freebsd workstations. So never really used the old #macos privately.
So i've rigged up my old Mini G4 1.25GHz on the desk together with my #macstudio to get going.
