  2. #MappyMonday with some big news to share: After discussing with Wille Marcel, creator of #OSMCha, and Martijn van Exel, creator of #MapRoulette, we decided to move OSMCha and MapRoulette from Charter Projects to OSM US Programs. This transition enables OSM US to allocate a portion of our main budget to support the maintenance and development of both projects.

  3. #OSMCha can visualize giant changesets without timing out or throwing an error. No one will sneak another empire into OHM without the community noticing it.

  4. @ticho @mfuhrmann @nicd @marcos Indeed, a highly underused and hard-to-discover feature for reviewers and potentially demotivating for contributors (not getting their review, they would think nobody cares). If you're interested in reviewing, you can create filters and follow them through an RSS feed. This way, review requests come to you at least, and you don't have to go check every time.

  9. New look for #OSMCha changesets?

It seems to be handling larger changes better.

  10. Our #OSMCha instance makes it easy to inspect large changesets for subtle changes. Sometimes, those changes look very wrong, but only because modern aerial imagery doesn’t line up with the historical features being mapped.

Now you can visualize changesets against existing #OpenHistoricalMap coverage to see how it all fits into the map we’re building. Click the 🗺️ button to set the basemap back to #Mapbox or #BingMaps imagery like before.

  13. How to easily double the amount of nodes in the #OpenStreetMap database? Map each #photovoltaics panel installed somewhere in the world individually!

Not sure whether to be impressed or mad… 😆

  15. Schon witzig, wenn man sich die eigenen Änderungen aus StreetComplete dann "in echt" anguckt: t.ly/juR0q

  16. EDIT: this issue is now resolved; the daily post has been generated just now.

It seems that #OSMCha is not ingesting new changesets. This bot account uses OSMCha to fetch all the changes made with @[email protected]

As such, there will be no new automatic posts here until this is fixed...

(The changes you make with mapcomplete.org are still safely recorded into OpenStreetMap)

    Kind regards,

  20. @MapAmore what is meant by "more passive RSS feed"? I cannot imagine the difference between #osmose and #osmcha

  21. Do you know that you can get any #OpenStreetMap contributor's RSS feeds via #osmose?

Although the same is possible via #OSMcha, I prefer the more passive RSS feeds and do this, because I find their contributions interesting.

    For example: osmose.openstreetmap.fr/en/byuser/SomeoneElse_Revert.rss
