2/2 It's very elegant, with finesse to spare. It hasn't lost a step in mid-palate depth either. A nice success, and this is a great time to dive in, but there are years left. It has thrown some sediment; take note. 13.5% alc, $40 these days #newyorkwine #wine #longisland

From Wölffer, on Long Island, N.Y.'s South Fork, this 2015 Bordeaux-blend (composed of the famous wine band, Merlot & the Cabernets 😈) is textured, complex, bright and prime time, a claret-wannabe you just can't stop drinking.
Beautifully focused, ripe and flavorful on the juicy finish, it sports a hint of green (Cab Franc?) & seems very elegant, with finesse to spare. This is a great time to dive in, but there are years left. 13.5% alc, $40 these days

A specialty bottling (its name means "my heartbeat" or loosely translated, "my darling" in Gaelic), it's in perfect shape today and can likely age more. But there's probably no benefit to doing so.There's little power and it's developed enough.
13.9% alc, $56, #wine #fingerlakes #newyorkwine

This 2017 Falling Man is in a great place. The only flaw was mine--it was served too cold. Once it warmed, this Dry Riesling blossomed, still showing the good structure, elegance and depth I expected, plus fresher fruit. Clean and beautifully balanced, it's ready to roll, but it has lots of time left.
Fun fact: the vineyard name comes from the steep slope to the vineyard--and what happens if you don't navigate your downward return well.12.4% alc, $40.
