So, if there was a Bordeaux week, there must be a Sauternes addendum. If that's not the rule, I'm making one. 😁
First up, 1996 Raymond-Lafon is a Sauternes with a hard edge of Botrytis. It was certainly pleasing and delicious, but not the generous style the Rieussec had (pic 2).
Still, there's something to be said for the laser-like focus and big finish. High end Sauternes with age always has a special something. $60 (for a half bottle), 13.5%
