This Finger Lakes winery has been planting Saperavi, a Georgian grape, since the 1960s. Their expertise is hard won! This 2014 is pretty great, spicy, elegant, and aromatic. There's good acidity and big flavor on the finish, blackberries and tart black cherry. It's enlivening and youthful.The color is appropriately dark for this grape that is famous for dark color. This FLX pioneer does a great job with it.

"Triumph" (2025 harvest), from Finger Lakes Cider House, is a blend of Golden Russet, Margil & crab apples fermented with Triumph & Cascade hops.Yepper! Lightly bubbling, it's a pet nat style with a beer cap closure. There's a tasty combo of apple cider and beer nuances. Very dry, it has a tart hint that I loved. It's crisp and textured.
Well, this was fun and different. 10% alc on label. With then applicable discounts, about $17, but list price is $21.

This dessert Riesling desperately needed aging, which has brought it into good balance. Serious stickies do better with aging!
Once just unctuous, it's now a complete package with integration of sugar and fruit. In its opulent style, it doesn't have much zing, but it's fresh, coats the palate, resists overkill and is insanely delicious. It's tinged with peaches, led by enticing aromatics.
7.8% alc. It's pricey as a half bottle (over $60, but new years are 500ml). #wine #fingerlakes #riesling

The aromatics steadily improved, and it became a fine food wine, more mature these days, but very much still prime time, and...maybe even somewhat improved, more interesting compared to release. It is no longer as straightforward.
