I gotta get a kite…

I didn’t realize it at first for node 68b5 but like bb4c it appears on the map… at a police station. I think it’s pretty high up as well to get the coverage it does. Is MPD using Meshtastic?

Exciting Meshtastic stuff in the neighborhood with a new node that might be between @mathias and me...
They haven't responded to messages yet, but hey... more nodes is good, right? -
I made Meshtastic contact with @joe today…

Looks like my outdoor node may have been knocked out by the cold… if I can’t connect to it this morning I’ll pull it down and have a closer look.

The outdoor Meshtastic node is currently about 16 feet high, which is not taller than my house, so that's an issue... I can (occasionally) reach it from about a mile away but that really needs to improve.
A better antenna and more height are on the list of improvements. I'd like to someday see nodes besides my own!

Looks like one of the nodes at my house spotted a node on a plane a few days ago…
-
I found two more nodes in the Third Ward and had a brief chat while waiting for an appointment.

I picked up #meshtastic node F374 yesterday while driving on the freeway (south on 894/41) near Organ Piper Pizza in Greenfield...
-
I stuck a node 16 feet high two days ago and it snowed a bit here (current temperature is 20 F) and the single 18650 is at 88%.
-
I threw a RAK WisBlock up on a pole 16 feet high in Wisconsin and it was down to 25˚ F last night and 24 hours later the battery (a single 18650 2200mAh) is at 93%. I don't know how accurate the battery report is, but if accurate I think that's pretty good.

I made a handlebar mounted sliding holster/holder for my Heltec V3 by modifying the "Pager Style Holster" designed by Alley Cat... It just attaches with zip ties for now.

Attempted another Meshtastic bike ride this morning... was able to see a @mathias node but not until I was practically right in front of it... (I had two devices with me this time.)
-
I got a Meshtastic device (Lilygo T-Beam) from @mathiasx and finally got around to designing a 3D printed case for it.
It's v1 for sure, and I need to fix a few things for the next version but it works for now.
I wanted it vertical so the display is connected with wires instead of header pins and mounted to the top cover.

Going to attempts Meshtastic bike ride today… hoping to see a @mathiasx node…
