Continuing my mini-season of less mainstream #vampire flicks from my collection. After Nadja, A GIrl Walks Home Alone At Night, The Addiction, Byzantium & Cronos, tonight it's a revisit to the intriguing Shadow of the Vampire.

Yesterday I learned (or was reminded) that the German word "schreck" means "terror" or "fright." (Dr. Schreck is the name of #PeterCushing's fortune teller in Dr. Terror's House of Horrors.
I immediately thought of #Nosferatu actor #MaxSchreck and wondered if that was his real name. According to Wikipedia, it is. What must of his ancestors have done to get that surname attached to the family?
Max was apparently destined to play film's first #Dracula. That's my headcanon, anyway.

Contrary to belief our leading man Max Schreck was not an actual vampire or even a supernatural being. He was a German actor who primarily did stage work until the early 1920s when he began working in films, which he did until his death in 1936.
