New #review today: "Aran is the third part of #ChristineOtt’s #SilentMovie soundtrack trilogy composed and played for movies by #FWMurnau and #RobertFlaherty. She is accompanied on stage by #MathieuGabry, her partner in #Snowdrops, and the duo weaves a score between impressionism, repetitive music, and chamber #PostRock." #ExposeOnline http://expose.org/index.php/articles/display/christine-ott-mathieu-gabry-aran-6.html

I did not expect to love this movie as much as I did when I first put it on, but, man, what a masterpiece.

I just watched Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans (1927). It is considered a #ClassicFilm but that doesn't mean that it is any good. It might just mean that it is important to the history of cinema or that it works well despite the limitations of that time.

Sunrise works extremely well working within the limitations of technology. It is not a true #SilentFilm but rather a #MovieTone film. It has a soundtrack though there is no real dialogue.

The #film simply gripped me. I was along for the ride. A must-see for any #CinePhile.

Whoa. I wasn’t aware of this when I came here. Quite a coincidence, as I watched that film just a week ago. Wismar = Wisborg in the film. So should Wismar be like Whitby in England for goths? I haven’t seen any. #Nosferatu #Wismar #FWMurnau

Shadow of the vampire (2000)

TMDb

“Nosferatu” (1922)

I’m guessing a lot of people will pick this one! I watched it with my partner for Halloween a few years ago, and it was….interesting. I liked it though. This might be the oldest movie I’ve ever seen 🤔
