Time to get my seasonal #Halloween viewing rolling. Starting with something I haven't watched in years, a bit of a lesser entry by Craven but still has its moments (and Jeri Ryan, swoon), Dracula 2000

This evening's viewing distraction: the 2005 version of The Producers, with Nathan Lane & Matthew Broderick

This evening's viewing: a revisit to the reality-bending, visually stunning Paprika, by Satoshi Kon, his last feature film (we lost him far, far too early). A notable influence on Nolan's later Inception.

After today's confirmation that I'm to endure chemo as follow up to the surgery, I have a big need for comfort viewing tonight, so The Cat Returns it is.
Thank you, Ghibli...

After the disappointment of last night's viewing distraction (the dull, cliche-ridden Borderlands flick), tonight, ahead of what's coming, I understandably crave comfort viewing to wrap myself in, so a warm, old favourite it is: Miyazaki & Co's gorgeous Spirited Away.

This evening's viewing distraction: a revist to The Royal Tenenbaums, which I haven't seen in ages.

Nach einer langen Nacht möchte ich etwas sagen.
Ich möchte mein 2026 dem Kampf gegen denn Ich-Bin-Nie-Zufrieden- Mann widmen.

This evening's viewing: Cowboy Bepop the Movie. Have loved the original series and the live action version, but never seen the movie (which is set chronologically between a couple of late episodes of the series).

This evening's viewing, a revisit to Amelie. I revisited Jeunet's earlier works, Delicatessen and City of Lost Children, last year, but haven't revisited this for years. Such a gorgeous film. Not to mention Audrey Tautou (swoon)

This evening's viewing distraction: 638 Ways to Kill Castro.
My chum in the bookshop who got me in the Secret Santa picked a pile of DVDs from a thrift store, picking different genres, including documentary, so tonight it's time for that one (amazingly she didn't pick any others I didn't already have)

Wonderful to revisit Crouching Tiger on the big screen after all these years, still such a gorgeous looking piece of cinema, and deeply romantic too. The elegant way it takes the wire work action of Hong Kong films and turns them into choreographed ballets, the music (not least from Yo-Yo Ma). First time viewing for two of my friends, who loved it.
Post-work movie outting with some chums from the bookshop to see the 25th anniversary screening of the achingly beautiful Crouching Tiger 🐯, Hidden Dragon 🐉

Continuing my mini-season of less mainstream #vampire flicks from my collection. After Nadja, A GIrl Walks Home Alone At Night, The Addiction, Byzantium & Cronos, tonight it's a revisit to the intriguing Shadow of the Vampire.
