I met up with this beautiful mariposa lily on a hike I did last Friday between the main peak of Mount Diablo and two neighboring peaks. It's my favorite local wildflower.

Spotted this mariposa lily today. There was just a single, solitary bloom and no foliage so it stood out amid all the other sagebrush type plants in the area.
I think it’s a Sego lily which is native to this region.
