    My very first wireless trackball, a Logitech M570, experienced a very traumatic issue today. The poor thing was at least 10 years old, had lost three out of the four rubber pads on the bottom, and was jittery and shaky for the last month. I cleaned all of the optical and roller sensors, and it still jittered so badly I could not click on anything without it registering multiple clicks. I...

  3. And my Logitech is repaired once again. This time it was the button under the scroll wheel, which most of the time produced 2 clicks. The red/white thingy beside the black one is the original, defective. The mouse buttons were already replaced some time ago. Those infamous OMRON switches.

  5. @codeHaiku Luckily I still have some spare ones from the last order. Prices apparently vary between regions. Amazon Germany lists the for roughly 57€.

  6. @orbjet I am glad that it was introduced. It brought the price of the down significantly. When this happens to the ergo, I will buy it and try it. In the end, all mice I have owned had a worn out left mouse button switch after prolonged use. With this in mind, I don't spend too much on their mice, knowing I have to replace it with a few years.

  7. @chairraver The switch is a pain to switch. Every mouse I have ever had has issues with this after prolonged use. I just buy a new mouse and move on. The is only USD 29.99 these days. That is worth it since time spent ordering and replacing the switch seems excessive.

    I completely agree. However on one of my trackballs the switch below the mouse wheel starts acting up having opened so many webpages in new tabs with middle clicks.

  9. The trackball mouse is just amazing. Every machine I have is connected to one of these mice. Why drag and flail your arm around a table all day like a savage, when you can just use your thumb to navigate like a boss.
