Anyone recommend any chess games for beginners that will run on Linux? Trying to learn, and it seems when I google chess for Linux it comes up with these complicated installs the require chess engines and shit.. I just want a stand alone game that is good for beginners.

Hello fellow #Linux Users, I have been a long time arch user, and was thinking about trying a new distro. I primarily use my system for sysadmin work in the day, and then gaming at night.

What distro do you use? and any pros/cons of that distro?

I bought a brand new 4TB NVME m.2 drive and its just itching to have a new distro installed on it :)

Can someone look at this proton log and tell me why my damn game wont load? It was loading fine then all of a sudden stopped. So frustrating.

Damn it, Starwars Jedi: Survivor stopped working for me after the last patch. Any other #Linux #LinuxGamers run into this? is there a fix?

Also folks say they are able to run farcry 6 right out of the box, and I have not been able to get it to run.

This might sound like a weird opinion, but now that #Valve and the wider games industry is putting so much effort into #Proton and #Linux support, it's actually a good thing to have some games that don't run very smoothly at launch.

While it's annoying for #LinuxGamers, it's going to help developers of Proton and of big game engines to clean up messy edge cases and improve performance and compatibility for everyone.

Hi #linuxgamers! Looking for a new laptop, to do development and a bit of gaming. From what I understand, Intel GPU are vastly under-powered and NVidia GPU laptops are still a pain to run smoothly on Linux. Am I right to assume the safest bet is an AMD GPU?
