Bazzite may not be the best distro for tinkering, unlike CachyOS is. I guess one could find a way to tinker, but that wouldn't play to it's strength.
It's strength for me was how quickly I could get everything up and running, and how stable it's been. I haven't found a single Flatpak that didn't just install, and work as intended.
I've got bazzite GNOME running on my media computer, and bazzite KDE on my main computer. So far, both are just AWESOME.

@FediFollows you ought to include the contacts of #opensource champions like the #developers of #linux #distros like #mxlinux #linuxMint #debian #archlinux, #developers of some prime #mastodon instances, #piefed instances, #codeberg , #github and email services like #mailo and #proton.
That way, we would be able to reach out to them through #socialmedia whenever we need their support.
This informal channel is oftentimes better than your regular email.

Ya está disponible Trisquel 12.0 “Ecne”, basado en Ubuntu 24.04 LTS y con soporte hasta 2029. Entre otras, incluye mejoras clave en empaquetado, seguridad y software disponible: en el plano del kernel, se volvió más modular para reducir fallos durante la instalación y se endureció la seguridad mediante reglas más completas de AppArmor; en cuanto a navegadores, ahora ofrece varias alternativas 100% libres como GNU IceCat, ungoogled-chromium además de Abrowser; el sistema de backports sigue estando disponible y permite disfrutar de versiones actualizadas de varias aplicaciones. Las ediciones se mantienen: la principal con MATE, Triskel con KDE, la Mini con LXDE para hardware limitado y una educativa basada en Sugar, junto a una imagen de red pensada para despliegues más técnicos.

Topic: Linux distro development
I've just completed a full rebuild of my Linux distro, Laclin, and I thought I'd comment on a worthwhile point.
Today, the vast majority of 64-bit #Linux #distros support 32-bit mode primarily as a set of 32-bit libraries, referred to as "multilibs", that are used to permit the builds of 32-bit components.
Relatively few 64-bit distros permit the user to boot into a true 32-bit desktop, 32-bit kernel plus 32-bit applications, that might run on 32-bit boxes that are decades old.
I haven't seen a reason to drop support for true 32-bit mode. It's only a little more work compared to "multilibs" to build a complete tree of 32-bit executables. So, my distro does precisely that.
#Laclin is able to boot into any of the following modes: 64-bit kernel plus 64-bit programs, 64-bit kernel plus 32-bit programs [this mode is useful for 32-bit cross-compiles as compilers are able to use more RAM], and 32-bit kernel plus 32-bit programs [true 32-bit mode].
In true 32-bit mode, most things work normally. You can read email using Thunderbird, edit documents using LibreOffice, play videos and music, edit images using The GIMP, and browse the Web using the WebKitGTK mini-browser [which works even with modern websites].
The main things that are missing are support for Chromium and Firefox derivatives and all programs written in Rust.
So, why not support this mode?

I'm inclined to think that those in power within #systemd have zero interest in what anyone says or thinks at this point.
#MicroSlop, #Meta, #IBM, and many of the project's 'supporters' have their #proxies inside being pushed/pulled into #compliance. The privacy door on Pandora's box is open, and many want to see it stay that way.
Looks like nothing has been pushed to a release - yet. What then? Trusted #distros go scorched earth or split into even more factions?

The other day, I booted up a #Ubuntu #2510 just to see how things are on the #Gnome #desktop. That #DestopEnvironment is not for me. #Kubuntu #2510 looked great and felt great, made me excited for #2604 #LTS. We are so lucky to have so much choice for pretty much everything. I think it is about time to fire up #virtualbox and take other flavours and #distros for a spin. It has been years since I have used #Xubuntu and longer for #Lubuntu. #OpenSource is just the best 😀

Was würdet ihr sagen ist die beste #linuxdistribution für alte Laptops (i5 6.gen, 8gb ram, gtx 960).
Ich glaube von mir selbst aus hätte ich #Linux mint installiert, aber vielleicht probiere ich auch mal #fedora
Es muss wirklich nur für Libre Office, browsen und ab und zu mal Streaming reichen.
Aktuelle habe ich Ubuntu drauf, aber das funktioniert nicht so gut und ich glaube mit anderen #distros könnte es besser laufen.

I still hold my preference for #ZorinOS for PC newcomers, #Bazzite for gamers, and #LinuxMint for Windows refugees.
For people needing for something rock solid and stable like a rock, #VanillaOS.
For those who want Linux on hardware released last month, #Fedora (personally, I prefer #Bluefin or #Aurora).

Sehe ich auch so. Man muss einfach anfangen, Internetsuche unter "Erfahrungen mit #Linux_xy ". Da werden dann #Anfänger-#Distros aufgelistet mit ihren Vor- u. #Nachteilen.
Nach Eingewöhnung kommt dann #Appetit_beim_Essen. Wie gesagt, habe ich mehrere #Linuxe installiert und greife #wechselweise auf gemeinsame #Daten zu, z.B. auf #Profile von #Browser und #Mail#BTW, kann jemand einen #Proxy & #MailSammler empfehlen, zunächst #lokal, später auf #NAS
