The first Leeds Pride parkrun was held in 2016 and was a club takeover by Leeds Frontrunners - an inclusive running club formed in 2015. Pride parkrun came about in part thanks to the wonderful Jaz. She is a fantastic ally and pushed for it to exist. It was a great success and Pride parkrun has become an annual fixture of Leeds Pride.
I had a lovely social run with Jaz and Pritti this morning.

It's LEEDS PRIDE WEEK, and this Fri 4 Aug at The Flamboyance - Bar & Coffee (Sweet St Holbeck) I'm reprising the show I took to Edinburgh Fringe, an original musical show about being one of them wot the Daily Mail warns you about!
Free in but with a bucket-shake on the bar. Also you don't just get me but I'm proper chuffed to welcome the fantastic LYDIA, comedian and drag king extraordinaire!
Starts 7:30pm but the bar's open well before that. Come, it'll be FAB!

Also acquired a megaphone which I was using to shout very loud. Thankfully saved my voice. Trans Leeds will be getting it back. I kept it safe & sound. I’m gonna get one for myself
Also picked up new edition of my lesbian telly bag from an artist I got one before. This new one has the same words but in trans colors

Awake & ready to get started for the day
First Pride in 2year & looking forward to it
It’s a ‘no drunken’ Pride for me, plus to go to somethings that are not just one big capitalist party, I dont fancy that & wanna have a more ‘protest’ Pride.
I’ll be in the parade, but not the overcrowded party areas, I’d rather be at other placesThough do hope to catch a small gig after the parade. Will see after that but I’m having a chill day for the most part

is anyone going to Leeds Pride this year?
ill be going & marching in the parade, but will not be joining the party with people devouring drink & drugs
hopefully will go & watch the band Two Spirit play if I can
but to me, Pride is still a protest, & I protest big fucking companies capitalising on it
but I will hopefully be going to exhibitions & learning & meeting folks
