  1. CW: human bones and river of blood

by Yuko Shimizu (cover for "Unwritten Vol.1 #32.5")

This person did cover illustrations for this series of comics or graphic novels or whatever. I didn't read them, maybe I would if I had time, I'm stoked that they're out there.

I like all the stars and the flowing indication of the blood. Like, this is not a single event, this is an ongoing river of blood, maybe something inevitable about this deity consuming people and spitting out the bones 💀

I discovered this is a Lamassu and comes from traditional Mesopotamian cultures, specifically Assyrian?

  3. Day 3: back to Eastbourne and the Towner, which was open today!

  4. Exciting to spot Michael Ranowitz #Lamassu outside #Eastbourne’s #Towner gallery today - here for the duration of the #TurnerPrize2023 exhibition, here this year. It’s made of empty date tins - a reminder of the ecological disaster of the #Iraq war. For me also nice connection btw #oilpalm and a module on ancient civilsations of the middle
East i once did, a long time ago
