Got a little inspired by somebody showing off their #DungeonsAndLasers ice cave pieces so I gave painting that a go last night.
(Let's see how much of these Speedpaints version 1 I can use up since I'm definitely spray varnishing my terrain pieces, so no need to worry about reactivation.) -

Can you get this much plastic for $230 from the GeeDubs? No, no you can't. Help I'm drowning I need a sabbatical during which you make me only paint things all day.

Shocking news: I got sidetracked.
I promise I was about to start painting the ork vehicles, but I accidentally fell onto my airbrush which then spontaneously filled itself with paint and somehow sprayed all the paint over these models. This is why the priming job is so bad, and not because I diluted it too much and failed to notice because of bad lighting. :harold:

Today's relatively quick job. I seem to work at a decent pace with figures that have a clear idea of what it is and doesn't have too many little accessories and other bits and bobs (those really trip me up because I want them to be contrasting but not to use too many colors on the model).

I (again) hid a painted-on fold on the dress that isn't in the sculpt! Can you spot it? The WIP photo might help.
I wanted her to have darker skin, so there isn't quite enough contrast where it's touching the #wyrm. I also wasn't intentionally doing gold NMM on the trim. It just somehow...clicked for me while trying to make the yellow look sharp.

A fairly quick job testing out purple basecoat for the skin. The flesh tone on top of it at first didn't stick very well so I had to rub it off and try again (hence the somewhat streaky look).
The last pic is from after I found on a different sprue the optional bits of hide for that shoulder, to hide a bad-fitting spot. (I think I did an okay job filling the gap with putty though.)

The glowing eyes and symbols were easier than I thought (I'm sure it's more complicated once you have the glow cast shadows on other things).
For a change, I used matte varnish over this (except the glossy water). It makes for better pictures but I'm so used to finished models having a bit of shine that the matte gives an unfinished look to me IRL.

Another figure from the #DungeonsAndLasers World of Deuslair stretch goals box. The #yeti has a couple of different pairs of optional horns. I took some inspiration from cow horns when painting them :)
I forgot to paint under one arm (didn't switch to smaller drybrush) but I guess you can consider it in deep shadow anyway...and oh yeah I am loving the snow texture stuff :D
