Just to vent a bit of frustration and I doubt there's anybody in my Mastodon circle who would care but, aaagh, #MIDI cables from AliExpress, gaaaaarbage. Trying to connect a MIDI keyboard with standard 5pin DIN to a #KorgVolca that uses a 3.5mm headphone jack. There are 2 standards for wiring these, TRS-A and TRS-B. The AliExpress cable was neither of these and had a moulded-on DIN plug so next to impossible to rewire. The Volca needs TRS-A, by the way.

Sth I've been wanting to make for a while, a panel to mount Korg Volcas synth on your Eurorack setup. Takes 12v power from Eurorack socket and converts to 9v, audio brought to Eurorack levels through a separate audio out.

A small preview of today's work.

I'm quite happy with the whole thing, I'll make some minor tweaking tomorrow. It always feels special to finish the recording of a track.
