My nFM (https://framagit.org/nokturnal/nfm) OPL2/3 support library integration was merged into ScummVM codebase 🥳(PR waited in a que since April). It's not enabled on automated builds yet, but we are getting there. At some point it will be unlocked on other platforms (Windows / Linux etc..) as well. I can now refocus on integrations with other projects and improving nFM further. 🙃 #atari #scummvm #opl2 #opl3 #adlib #retrocomputing

@Judeau @stefanjl 2/2 It's not tied to NokturnFM cartridges (there's OPL2 variant too), supports other oses / OPL devices(https://bus-error.nokturnal.pl/Using%2BOPL%2Bsoundchips%2Bon%2BATARI%2BST), has simple player #atarist #opl3 #opl2 PR for ScummVM (right now there are only my custom builds, need to make proper Linux library distribution first) is on the way too and possibly in Hatari emulator via natfeats (, so you can use opl3 express for instance or something other if I finish proper drivers). Can't do much more...

Well, adoption is quite poor to be honest in comparison to let's say c64 or Atari 8-bit (I don't have any influence on people), but I've open sourced library (C99, https://framagit.org/nokturnal/nfm), I've made docs about usage, which eases adding opl support along with player (it needs some more work as always). #atarist #opl3 #opl2

This is a Yamaha OPL2. Sanded down and relabeled with a bogus datecode! Why do they do this...? So annoying. It works, but the original markings would have been much more useful.

#atarist #opl2 #opl3 just received new pcb's with fixed 'reverted' data bus.I've submitted also final version of pcbs to production.Probably i will test them next week. If they will be ok, then i guess it will be end of this journey. The only thing will be improving software. I've also got name for both cartridges: NokturnFM3 and NokturnFM2.FM for frequency modulation synthesis,2 or 3 stands for OPL type, nokturn - has musical meaning, development was during late nights and my site is nokturnal.
