  1. Happy Thursday!

So here I am in KDE (kbuntu 25.04) and I'm looking at the notifications. Is it just me or do they really suck. The design to start feel old.

Second, if I have three open, I close the bottom one, the ones above it do not slide down. They just hover there. If I go to close the one above that, as soon as I hover over it, it moves down, but the one above that does not...

So I go to close that one above and it also finally moves once the mouse touches it. The entire system is designed that you cannot easily close any of them, what am I missing?

  2. I have reached the just make it work part of the journey in this Linux Distro testing.

I've settled on Kbuntu, but by the time I figured out the login page scaling, I was already off KDE Neon.

So I fixed that. I've also added Flatpak and discovered some snaps are just not working but the flatpak versions are fine. Took me a minute to get touchpad gestures to something close to my muscle memory. Made an SSH key and added it to my keyring for ssh into my network. So you can say I'm mostly moved in.

  3. Ok KDE Neon installed. Login page has micro text -_-

So I moved to Kbuntu, and it wasn't much better. A google search got me the settings to adjust the scale of the login. Also dealing with suspend issues killing the bottom task bar on resume (or hang it, donno yet).

  6. Any Ubuntu-ites venture outside of the standard Gnome? I tried KDE are over a year of a co-worker talking me up to it. I chose poorly, a 4k laptop. Apparently the 24.10 Kbuntu install did not scale properly. I then needed to mess with the scaling AND the pointer size settings. And apps didn't seem to want to resize without a restart. This was a horrible introduction to KDE for me.

  7. @thelinuxEXP Hello Mr.Nick.
I saw your video, and it was great. I'm programmer and for my job, I used a lot of linux systems in my life. The Debian is a good OS for servers, but for desktop it's not a great choice; #ubuntu, #deepin and #Kbuntu could be a good choice for desktop computers, because Ubuntu, Deepin and Kubuntu can support #NVIDA graphics card and you can use snap and steam without any problems.
