You will soon be able to repost videos!
A repost is similar to a Mastodon boost, where it's delivered to your followers, and you can see reposted videos from accounts you follow in the following feed, along with reposts appearing in a new profile tab.
This will roll out soon to the webUI and later to the mobile apps.
Later this summer we will ship an update allowing you to see less reposts from accounts you follow, without having to unfollow, mute or block them.

Loops has a special type of notification, called System Notifications that get generated by us when we want to announce new features and updates.
We just shipped 3 new system notifications, viewable on web and mobile!
Admins simply need to update, and these will get automatically generated and delivered when the cronjob runs this once daily check.

GIF Reactions are a fun way to interact with content on Loops, and are becoming more popular on Loops as they are now available on Web, Android and iOS!

iOS Loopers: If you joined Loops using the "Sign in with Apple", and got assigned a random username, great news!
You will soon be able to change your username, once per month and up to 2 times a year.
Your old username will redirect and be reserved for a grace period, and we will rewrite mentions and federate your new username to remote servers.
Android and web support will be coming later this summer.

We are working on the Direct Messages feature, allowing you to message other creators, across Loops and the fediverse!
We are prioritizing safety and will limit incoming DMs from accounts you follow only, while also allowing you to change who can message you, with a Message Request inbox so you can still allow conversations with accounts you approve.
Admins will have powerful spam detection tools and settings to prevent DM abuse from new or suspicious accounts.

They want you to think building platforms like TikTok requires billions in VC funding.
Reality: Laravel, Vue, federation, and a vision beyond profit.
@loops is my middle finger to tech gatekeepers who said only monopolies can build this.
High school dropout + open source + refusing to compromise = your federated TikTok.
The tools were always free. They just didn't want you to know.
