So an interesting change is coming to Mastodon embeds.
Previously, the embed code consisted of an iframe, going forward, this is being switched to a blockquote.
In either case, the original text of the post is not included and is rather added after the main page the embed is on is loaded.

It's the same that, of the two warring sides in the #MiddleEast, the party that launched rocket attacks on civilians to start a #genocide, and which #embeds itself deviously, heinously, and illegally among civilians to further genocide *isn't* the one being called to declare full #ceaseFire and stop the conflict.
#MEDIA has lost its mind, will, and interest in covering the truth.
Media is one shaping a lot of public opinion. I don't think we should blame people for losing minds.

I'm hoping to have the code review for my Fediverse Embeds WordPress plugin wrapped up over the next week or two.

1. #Twitter has now walled off all its content on Twitter.com, so nothing can be seen if you don’t have an account.
2. How long do you expect it will be before every news article, blog post, and everything else that has Twitter embeds as a part of its content, small or large, suddenly has a lot of whitespace instead of #embeds?
3. Embeds were _never_ a good idea, and still aren’t. Yes, even those from Mastodon or other Fediverse members. The content of the embed is always going to be managed by someone else, and if their server ever disappears, whether maliciously or not, the content is gone.
4. This is also why I don’t get terribly invested in the “should Mastodon have #quote-toots?” argument. It’s just another form of embed, and if you quote-toot a server that pulls the plug, your quote-toot is now contextless.
5. Just copy, paste, and link. The link may 404, but at least you’ll have the quoted text.

Is there a way to disable #embeds from loading? Right now I can't properly browse Mastodon because embeds load a split second after the actual toot and move everything, making scrolling a pain.
