  1. So I lost my jingpad when I moved in 2022. I just found it. Does anyone know if there is an aftermarket is I can put on it? Ideally I'd like it to be Linux, not Android. It's starting to look like my options are cybersecurity nightmare, or paperweight.

    Boosts appreciated!

  2. @thelinuxcast iPhone is a really nice piece of hardware but I would want more. To be more specific, the firmware would have to be open source and I would like it to run a mobile-optimized Linux distro.

was the closest thing to this dream I have but it's a pity that the team and their project ended up dissolving. 😟

  5. @fedops @urusan @fitheach @OpenComputeDesign

Be careful with the . I am fairly certain that project has died and in it's current state it's not very usable. At least for me.

I recently helped a friend to switch his Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 lite over to #/e/-OS. He is rather happy with that.

I also have a Surface Go2 running fedora 35 and like it very much. Cameras don't work though

  6. No Updates on the since January and it looks like no commits since then either on

Maybe it's time to call the time and date?

  8. If you were interesting in the , after rumors of trouble and downsizing there's been some confirmation today, and also the announcement of a "45% off" sale with code NEWYEAR.

If you always wanted one, and were looking forward to running a different OS on it anyways, then this might be good news to you, otherwise I am not sure whether I would recommend this tablet now – I never laid my hands on the hardware and forgot most of the reviews I watched.

  10. Che #JingPad fosse una mezza fregatura nel mondo #opensource già da come era stato affrontato lo sviluppo ma ora ne abbiamo la certezza.

  11. New update, but leaving it turned off on the desk seems to have drained the battery, so I have to wait until it's charged again....

  12. One thing I am really missing on the is a german keyboard layout...

  13. Just installed the first update o the
Alt+Tab is now way smoother, and the promise is that power consumption and charging speeds have improved.
Switching apps via gestures is also noticeably smoother.

All in all solid first update and already much more usable.

Looking forward to see them progress further

  14. It is here, my very first product review ever and it is on the A, my first proper Linux tablet.
Should you happen to read it, please let me know if there is anything you are missing, there might be more reviews in the future and I wouldn't want to waste your time.

  15. Another weekend I can't keep my no screen promise to myself, but this time it's not something going wrong that's pulling me back in, it's the I want to test out.

So far it is at the same time brilliant and frustrating, so much better than my iPad in some places and so much worse in others.
It it's a strange device to use really and I am still not sure if I like it or not...

But in just little over two days of use I manged to fuck it up completely but also recover it

  19. Package tracking still says my will arrive today, but the tracking list jumped back from it already being in Vienna yesterday to now flying out from Charles de Gaulle...

Nut sure if beaming or time travel is involved here...

  20. According to fedex tracking my should arrive on Tuesday….
I may have spent the morning working for the company and the afternoon slaving over the stove (and doing random house work)
But I can’t wait for this week to start!
