Joutessani päivittelin softaa. Pistepäivitykset JASPiin ja JAMOVIin. Paitsi että eivät noudata pistepäivitysten logiikkaa, kun tulee näköjään pieni kohennuksiakin. Aikamoiset työkalut on kyllä nuo molemmat. Suositus. #JASP #JAMOVI #freesoftware

On 16 and 17 February, the #JASP team organised a #hackathon where 27 participants from 6 countries learned how to contribute to their own modules to the JASP ecosystem!
Special thanks to @EJWagenmakers, @pabrod, Stefan Verhoeven & Zowi Mens for making the event a success!

I have been following and used #JASP on and off over the years and I liked it a lot.
This tutorial makes it really interesting!
"Measurement Invariance with Moderated (Non-)Linear Factor Analysis in JASP"
https://osf.io/preprints/psyarxiv/6ftqg_v1I hope I can trial it soon!

Why would a for-profit company want to invest in Open-Source Software? Our
collaborator, the creator of the statistics software #JASP, will tell you why 👉 https://blog.esciencecenter.nl/8c81bad92d79?source=friends_link&sk=e5766de706dfd576a5872b69c6d97572 -
🇬🇧 What is learned in the cradle is carried to the grave
🇳🇱 Jong geleerd is oud gedaanFirst developed at the @uva_amsterdam , #JASP (https://fosstodon.org/@JASPStats) is a free, cross-platform software program with an advanced graphical user interface. It is widely used for conducting and teaching statistics, and is often compared to #SPSS... give it a try if you want to break the lifelong IBM SPSS dependence for yourself and (future) organization!

@EJWagenmakers Although I do not use #JASP, but #RKWard, I recommend it to the bachelor and master students I teach in #biotechnology and #forensics. This is a great resource.

JASP 0.19.2 out a week ago:
"This version adds 2 new modules Bayes Factor Functions and BFPack. The classical Meta-Analysis module is also reworked to include Funnel Plot, Effect Size calculation, etc… Computed columns and labels are improved, and many other features and fixes are added."

"Discovering Statistics Using…" by Andy Field is a book that a lot of people love since it helped them to understand how to do statistics.
Now, the book has been avaliable for SPSS (expensive!) and R (programming!) but soon we get an edition for JASP, a free program with an Excel-like interface.

#JASP 0.18.3 is out. Hotfix for the previous version.
-
Any #JASP users on 0.18.2 who could test a potential quick filtering problem?
-
This also is what #OpenScience should be - the tools.
One might assume that academia would understand the benefits and the crucial need for opensource tools.
Good to see these organisations supporting #JASP. -
Something for #JASP users - release 0.18.0 had:
"Main new feature: Data Editing"
Not something I personally missed, but some users have expressed a rather significant desire for such a feature.
-
Something for the #statistics crowd - #JASP 0.17.3 was released a few days ago.
Among other improvements, it now allows factor analysis on ordinal data.
Minor improvement, moar usability. -
