  1. "That asymmetry — small cost for the violator of trust, large costs for everyone who has to thereafter protect themselves — is the very essence of Trump’s MO. He gains wealth, power, and glory for himself by shattering norms, after which everyone else has to pick up the pieces." robertreich.substack.com/p/its

  3. Right now the feeling of despair is easy to give in to, with everything going on: war, habitat destruction and the EU trying to press everyone into a dependency on US ad-tech for being able to do... anything requiring an Internet connection, apparently.

I don't want to. Neither one of those. I'll still keep trying to do better as much as I can.

Some days that'll be better than others.

    I'll still try.

  4. I am distressed when I think about how my tax dollars are going toward this cruelty and destruction of the current Iran war. So I looked up about tax resistance and found the National War Resistance Coordinating Committee website nwtrcc.org/resist/consequences/

Here is a snippet from their page on the consequences of resisting war taxes:
"Of course there are also terrible risks involved with not doing war tax resistance. If you continue to pay war taxes, you contribute to global insecurity, nuclear terrorism, and imperialism, you put innocent people in harm’s way, and you risk the moral injury of knowing that you are complicit in such things."

    The moral injury is real...

  5. I am noticing a pattern where the US uses military strikes and "wins" only to "need" to return later to fight again. This Iran War is a good example. The Twelve Day War was less than a year ago. After this war is over will we "need" an even bigger war in the next nine months? Will we also "need" to return to Venezuela too?

This is not a new pattern, but it seems much worse under this regime.

It's frustrating. I want lasting peace and security, not just for us Americans but for people all over.

  6. I strongly oppose Trump's new war with Iran. I don't buy that this war was necessary. There are ways to sort out international problems peacefully. Let's try sincerely.

I guess when you have aircraft carriers and cruise missiles it seems easy to solve everything militarily, but I think it is a horrible mistake.

I intend to take action to resist further war. As a first step, I'll ask my congress people to not approve this war and not to fund it either!
