  1. Gasp! I've been threatening to do this for years, decades even, but 🤷‍♂️

Today I did it. Changed ISPs. It was really easy, despite having to ring #internode to cancel (it's not automagic). I didn't even need to change modem settings!

Back in the day they had heaps of extras, & lower costs, but as ISPs merged, extras got dropped, prices went up. No reason for loyalty. The most recent price rise made them expensive - they wanted more for 50/20 than I'm now paying #Spintel for 100/20.

  2. I just called TPG who at first asked to try a few things but then said they are still fixing some stuff. So waiting is the only option at the moment. #tpg #outage #internode

  3. @isol conveniently timed "website maintenance" at internode. #tpg #internode #outage

  4. Internet via internode is down for me and has been for a while. No timeline (or reason) given so far. Thankful mobile (via Amaysim) is ticking away nicely or i'd be stuffed. #internode #outage

  5. Broken fibre🙁 Not that close to where we are, but apparently it's where our network traffic wants to go. Not sure if it is just Internet customers or any NBN.

  6. I just changed ISPs since Internode is in it's death throes.
I "might" be moving soon, and I've read cancelling an Internode/TPG account can be painful, while churning to another provider is easy.

So I'm now trying out Leaptel.. so far so good. Everything smooth and works well.

    This is on NBN/FTTP

    IPV6 works!

  7. Interesting - other than insistently asking why I was terminating my Internode/(iiNet/TPG) services today I was informed (and I quote) when asking for my personal information to be deleted that...

Internode will not be affected by "issues like the Optus and Medicare data breaches because our security is tip top".

That was also by way of an excuse as to why there is apparently no mechanism to contact management other than supplying feedback (when Internode ask for it) to delete my data and also why (as it stands) Internode/iiNet/TPG intend to store my information forever.

EDIT: In the spirit of fairness, this was a much better answer that I got by sending the same question to Internode via FaceBook:
“Protecting the privacy of our customers is extremely important to us, and we take all reasonable steps to ensure that any information we store is done so securely, protected from unauthorised use, and in compliance with relevant law.
You can find more details about how we handle your personal information on our website - internode.on.net/about/legal/p

  8. RIP Internode ?

Though for a while the Internode brand has just been a TPG wrapper, though they have maintained some Internode features like IPV6 for Internode customers.

  9. #Linode nameservers appear to have gone bye-byes.

Oh! Okay. It must be my ISP (#Internode). No names not already cached by my browser are resolving. As you were, Internet. Don't panic.

  10. Unlike #internode who sent me an sms 24 hours after the incident was resolved, #aussiebroadband just phoned me a mere minutes after the incident was resolved to confirm all was good.

  11. Need to help someone get onto the Internet via an #NBN connection. Pre-NBN, #Internode was once the choice for good quality Internet and service, and then it was #AussieBroadband. Is ABB still the choice today, or is there a better one?
