- Music: Qobuz ✅ so far, excellent. I'm also trying Idagio.
- Movies: +Arte, +ZDF and +ARD ✅ it can also force me to choose more options in German
- Series: idem + libraries + filmfriend ✅

I listen mostly to classical music, and I'm looking for an alternative for Amazon Music, which I find almost anything I want and with a high definition sound, including Dolby Atmos.

I found two potential alternatives, Qobuz (French), and Idagio (from Berlin). Both seem quite good options. I'm tempted to choose Qobuz, because sometimes we listen to other genres at home, but Idagio looks like a paradise to classical music lovers.

A few years ago, I tried to find alternatives before subscribing to Amazon. What a good surprise now, I can even choose!

@constantorbit @classicalmusic Danish National Radio DR P2 though chatty during day programme but great live or recorded concerts in evening programme. German BR Klassik just 🤩 in general. + subscription to #Idagio.

I've been unhappy with how IDAGIO lets you view and organize your collection. No sorting, no grouping into sets of albums, no searching within just my collection. And in contrast to physical album grouping, they could support membership in multiple groups (a la Wikipedia categories or somesuch).

I'd been in some other conversations here about classical streaming options but didn't really think about switching. Lock-in is more psychological but it's time.

What's the issue with Qobuz? I haven't been able to find anything through web searching.

This will be disappointing, I've been very happy with them and use it for pretty much all of my music now ( #idagio for most classical though)

Apple Classical certainly has Idagio soundly beaten on one of my go to test search cases (“Tannhauser” with missing umlaut - oh, and adding the umlaut doesn’t help)

Weird. So there's no recording of Schumann Op 70 Adagio and Allegro for Horn and Piano, WITH HORN, in either #idagio or #qobuz

Tons of recordings of the piece arranged for other instruments! But I much prefer it with horn. I guess I need to see if any of my public libraries have it on CD.
