#Germany’s upper house of parliament has backed a law that could imprison people for denying Israel’s right to exist, even as Berlin refuses to recognise a Palestinian state and intensifies its crackdown on pro-Palestine activism.
The Bundesrat approved the proposal, submitted by the state of Hesse, on Friday. The Bundestag, the lower house of parliament, is expected to consider it after its summer recess.

The UN Security Council adopted a US-drafted resolution welcoming the Gaza ceasefire proposal announced by President Joe Biden and calling on Hamas to accept it, a Sputnik correspondent reported.
Fourteen members of the council voted in favor, with Russia abstaining.The resolution basically repeats Israel's three-stage proposal for a ceasefire in Gaza, which US President Biden brought to the public.
🔶 The first phase, according to the resolution, includes an immediate full ceasefire, the withdrawal of Israeli troops from Gaza's population centers, the release of hostages held by Hamas, and the exchange of arrested Palestinians.
🔶 The second phase involves an indefinite cessation of hostilities in exchange for the release of the remaining hostages, as well as the withdrawal of Israeli troops from Gaza.
🔶 The third phase of the initiative calls for the launch of a “multi-year reconstruction plan” for Gaza.
The resolution rejects any attempt at demographic or territorial change in the Gaza Strip, including any action that reduces the enclave's territory.

Made celery stew with chicken breast instead of beef.
As I'm trying to cut back on red meet consumption, trying to make old Iranian dishes with chicken instead of beef.1kg chicken breast diced to 2cm cubes
1kg yellow onion, slow cooked with turmeric, black peppers salt and paprika. Then added the chicken and some salt and more peppers, after 20 minutes, added 1,5L of water to it and l slow cooked it while chopping the vegetables.One bunch of celery, cut in small pieces, 1 bunch of parsley, finely chopped,, 2/3rd of a can of spinach, a few branches of cilantro and garlic shoots. With 2 dried line crushed and the seeds removed. 1 table spoon of tomato concentrate, well mixed with the juice of the stew.
Slow cooked over an hour and then served over basmati rice. I have about 8 or 9 more meals to freeze.
I think I used a bit too much celery. But that is ok. I love the taste.
