  1. Chorus of Small Wings

There’s no shortage of birds singing in the morning. Here, five small birds are arranged along the branches like musical notes on a staff — fitting, I think, though the ensemble is missing a bass section. The three birds on the left are House Finches (Haemorhous mexicanus), with a rosy‑colored male in the middle. On the right, I believe the two birds are House Sparrows (Passer domesticus).

  6. Two Finches, One Direction

Here are two male house finches (Haemorhous mexicanus) who were around one spring.

Step into a world where even the smallest moments—like the glint in a bird's eye—tell their own story.

  7. Silhouette in the Sky

Tomorrow, I need to get some work done. I've been "lazying" around for a couple of days. In my defense, I took my wife to a doctor's appointment early, early this morning which took up half the day and I pretty much napped the other half. I've no defense at all for yesterday though, I just didn't feel like doing anything. It happens. 😆

I took this photo down at Holly Beach, Louisiana last year. I'm pretty sure that the silhouetted bird is a Forester's tern. There is something majestic and mysterious in the figure of a bird's silhouetted against dark clouds; don't you think so?

If you have a minute, take a look at my gallery. The below link will carry you there:

  8. Nature’s Duet

I am probably mistaken, but I think that I recognize this house finch (Haemorhous mexicanus) couple. It is amazing how many birds that I see showing up as mated pairs. Not just house finches, but cardinal, cowbirds, and woodpeckers as well.

As I've mentioned, I have a gallery of my favorite photos at: swede1952-photographs.pixels.c

Go there and take a look. Prints are for sale along with other doodads and I suppose it is kind of a business for me. But it's the kind of business where I don't care whether I sale anything or not. If you want something, by all means you are welcome to make a purchase. But I just want you to visit and maybe mark your favorites or leave a comment. Cheers 😄

  9. Just another day at the feeders. If you don't feed during the summer, you are missing listening to the masses of youngsters chattering away all day and picking up after them (birds, I mean, not humans.) #redheadedwoodpecker and the bottom half of a #bluebird; a #pileatedwoodpecker and #housefinches and a #goldfinch.
