Captain Lossius and Captain Dixon, who commanded riverboats on the Canton to Hong Kong run. Quite a lot of data on these fellows online. Lossius met his wife in Manchester and had a narrow escape during a typhoon. They are buried in Hong Kong, just metres from where I lived in the 1980s. Dixon was nearly killed by pirates but died of natural causes on his ship in Shanghai. #foundphoto #vintagephoto #HongKongHistory

"Heros do not come down from Heaven.
We only have everyday people who are not afraid to take a stand."-- by Marco Lee, Hong Kong pro-democratic activists, 2016
#CCPXi has tried to "redwash" this line by using it to praise those who fought in the pandemic in China yesterday in their "celebration". How ironic.
This line is widely used in Hong Kong pro-democracy movement as seen in the photos.
