  1. I have said this for years. #Hockney continuing to make poor art is ruining his legacy.
He's old and slow. He absolutely should still make art, but it's up to those around him not to promote it as having the same cultural value that his older works had. For galleries it's money, brings in the crowds.
The Guardian agrees, "The artist has stitched together 100 iPad paintings into a vast digital frieze – but the results risk undermining the pleasure in simple beauty which was his great gift"

  2. David Hockney gọi việc di dời Thảm Bayeux từ Pháp sang Anh là 'điên rồ' vì di sản gần 1.000 năm quá mong manh. Bảo tàng Anh tự tin với đơn vị bảo tồn và sưu tập hàng đầu thế giới. Tranh luận: di dời hay ngắm ở Pháp? #Hockney #Bayeux #NghệThuật #BảoTồn #Museum ift.tt/lFU1CBx

  4. ‘One of the greatest achievements of modern art’: The story behind David Hockney’s $44 million painting.

Christie’s has just auctioned the first of the double portraits the British artist created in the mid-1960s.

It is the last in a series that changed the course of his painting, as well as a landmark of pop art and of gay visibility.

  8. 🇫🇷 From the shadows of Cluny to Hockney’s bold lines, last week I traced Paris through curves, patterns, and whispers of its deeper self. A way of seeing you might not expect: 👉 www.digest.andymarshall.co/andy-marshal... #Paris #Art #Architecture #Hockney

  10. Went to see the David Hockey exhibition (Bigger & Closer, Not Smaller & Further Away) at Factory International in #Manchester.

As the exhibition name suggests, and like other immersive art experience, the twist is that it's huge projections of the art, sometimes in 360°, allowing you to really appreciate the texture and detail of his work.

  12. David Hockney: Bigger & Closer (not smaller and further away) @ Lightroom, London.

What a great way to experience art. Brought to life with audiovisual and narrated by Hockney himself.

Highly recommend. Such a calming, relaxed environment.

  13. Rural Construction An Expression of Pop Art

Vibrant colors and bold shapes adorn the farm as a tribute to the legendary Hockney David, a pioneer of pop art The vibrant energy of this construction juxtaposes the pastoral stillness, creating a vivid visual of rural life

  14. #Hockney at NPG London

Done well inspite of not being able to do eyes hasn't he?

  15. I have always loved David Hockney's art, but it's obvious in recent years that spark has gone. His new exhibition of portraits in London's National Gallery gets a five star review in the Guardian, as it should. It's a career retrospective. But that review also singles out the atrocious painting of Harry Styles for praise, undermining the whole review's integrity #art #hockney

  16. David Hockney, "Bigger and Closer". London, March 2023.

Photos taken at an immersive video installation of work by David Hockney. Watching people interact with Hockney's wonderful paintings was fascinating!

The video work is still on show in London, until December 2023.

  17. "It is a dumb contemporary fad that doesn’t – and cannot – capture the beauty of [Hockney's] art"

I couldn't disagree more strongly. I thought (the whole family thought!) that the Lightroom Hockney was the most lovely, immersive, engaging art gallery experience we've had in a very, very long time. It takes a lot to lose yourself in something for an hour or more and in my humble opinion, the Lightroom format nails it. #hockney #art #exhibition
